“The best part about cooking is cooking with people”
I was born on the souther coast of France, but by the time I was ten my family and I were already living in Barcelona. When I first started cooking, I was highly influenced by the Mediterranean traditions of cooking.
The abundance of fresh seafood available and the endless combinations of fresh ingredients has always inspired me to keep mixing flavors in the kitchen. Since Barcelona is home to over 30 food markets, there are so many places that I can go to find what I need to make a delicious meal.
When I was a child, I remember that my family and I always had fresh fish at the table: “bacalao with tomato”. This was my favorite dish at the time! My favorite time of year is early spring because it is the perfect time to have fresh mussels vaped in white wine and parsley, a recipe that has been passed down for generations. I like when food is fresh and local and here in Barcelona we have a very lovely fish market where we get the best of the sea.
The best part about cooking is cooking with people. There is nothing like gathering family, friends, and guests around the table to share moments while having a home cooked meal. This is why I love Grandma’s Cooking. It’s all about sharing tradition, and I can’t wait to share my recipes with you!
