“Talkative, Loves Life, Collaborative.”
I’m from a small town in the interior of Catalonia, close to Lleida, called Mollerussa, and whilst for reasons of studying and subsequently work have lived for many years in Barcelona, I’ve never forgotten the traditional cuisine of Lleida.
I learned to appreciate cooking watching my mother and grandmother in the kitchen and now that I’m retired I can dedicate more time to this activity, which we hereabouts call xup-xup cooking.
My cooking style is traditional and unpretentious, based on seasonal produce, including typical specialties from my hometown such as snails and pig’s trotters.
What I find most satisfying in the kitchen at the moment is recovering classic dishes such as Fricando (Fricassée), conill a la rabia, (raging rabbit), chicken with crayfish and other surf and turf combinations such as meatballs with cuttlefish.
I´ve dedicated my professional life first as a social worker, engaging with the handicapped for 25 years, and then, for the last 15, as a consultant for the empowerment of women, focusing especially on immigrants and people at risk of exclusion.
